Podcasts – What I listen to

JH-24 - 007

One of the challenges that I encountered when trying to find podcasts to listen to is that there are just way to many. So here is my list of favorites that help make my daily journey to work some what more enjoyable and educational at the same time.

Shop Talk Show

Shop Talk Show

Chris Coyer & Dave Rupert

“Shoptalk is a podcast about front end web design, development and UX. Each week Dave & Chris will be joined by a special guest who is there to talk shop and help answer listener submitted questions.” – Shop Talk Show

This podcast has a very informal feel to it which makes it humorous and fun to listen to. The topics focus on front end development trends and best practices with more of a leaning towards WordPress development.

Happy Monday

Josh Long & Sarah Parmenter

‘A new, short-burst, industry podcast available every Monday from 7am GMT. Hosts Josh Long & Sarah Parmenter talk about the latest in web and inspiration with some of the most creative people in the industry. Get the creative jolt you need to turn blue monday into “Happy Monday”.’ – Happy Monday

Josh and Sarah make it feel like you are sitting in at your favorite barista just sharing in on a conversation among friends. The show is geared more towards design with a focus on web design trends. Although it is relatively new it has become my favorite due to its content and the length of the shows sync perfectly with my morning commute.

Divya ManianGarann Means

‘Each week we discuss what are some of the tools, technologies & standards work that is catching our attention.’ – fripfrap

I’ve been following Divya from the HTML5Boilerplate project and on twitter and when she announced her podcast I thought I would give it a listen. It is another relatively new podcast and so far it has been great it has a decent selection of guest speakers and the dicussions between Divya, Garann and their guests has been a nice change from what I would call a pretty dominant mens space.

Some additional Podcasts I have on my list but haven’t listened to enough to make an honest opinion about them.
